Eliezer Ben-Yehuda made an enormous contribution to the Hebrew language. He is known as the "father of modern Hebrew" and is credited with reviving the language and making it a spoken language again after centuries of being used only for religious purposes. Ben-Yehuda worked tirelessly to create new words and phrases for modern Hebrew, and he also published a dictionary and grammar book.
