Emperor Huizong of Song was invaded by the Jin dynasty in 1126, after the Jin army led by Wuzhu attacked the Song capital of Kaifeng. The Jin army captured Huizong and his son, Emperor Qinzong, and took them to the Jin capital of Zhongdu (modern-day Beijing). The Jin dynasty then established the puppet state of Northern Song in the Song capital of Kaifeng.
