Empress Wanrong was the titled Empress Consort of the Qing dynasty, the last imperial dynasty of China. Wanrong's marriage to Puyi, the last Emperor of China, was arranged in 1922 and she was later bestowed the title of Empress. During her time as Empress, she faced political turmoil, personal struggles, and was ultimately placed under house arrest by the Chinese Communist Party after the fall of the Qing dynasty.
