Empress Wanrong was born on November 13, 1906. She was the last Empress Consort of China and the wife of Puyi, the last Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Wanrong was a Manchu noble lady who was selected to be Puyi's bride at the age of 16. She was known for her beauty and intelligence but also suffered from opium addiction and mental illness, ultimately leading to her tragic demise.
