Fath Ali Shah Qajar (1772-1834) was the second ruler of the Qajar dynasty of Iran. He was known for his lavish lifestyle and his patronage of the arts. He also portrayed himself as the heir to the ancient Persian Empire, and he adopted the title of "Shahanshah", or "King of Kings".
