Flavio Biondo (1392–1463) was an Italian humanist, historian and archaeologist. Born in Forlì, he was a student of Leonardo Bruni and Poggio Bracciolini. He was a prolific writer, and his works include Roma instaurata, a history of Rome from its foundation to the present day, and Italia illustrata, a description of Italy's cities and towns.
