Bishop Blase J. Cupich succeeded Francis George as Archbishop of Chicago. Cupich is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1987. He served as a pastor in the archdiocese for 12 years before being appointed Bishop of Spokane in 2010. In 2014, he was appointed Archbishop of Chicago by Pope Francis.
