Mary, Queen of Scots was the wife of Francis II, who was King of France from 1559 to 1560. Mary was the daughter of King James V of Scotland and his second wife, Mary of Guise. She was born in Edinburgh in 1542. When she was six days old, her father died and she became queen of Scotland. Mary was brought up in France and married Francis in 1558.
