François Englert, a Belgian theoretical physicist, was born in 1932. He is best known for his work on the Higgs boson, for which he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2013 with Peter Higgs. In 2014, he was awarded the title of Baron of Theoretical Physics by the King of Belgium.
