François Englert was a Belgian theoretical physicist who shared the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics with Peter Higgs for Theoretical discovery of the Higgs boson. The Higgs boson is a subatomic particle that is thought to be responsible for the mass of other subatomic particles. It was first observed at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in 2012.
