Fred Allen was born in 1920. He was an American comedian, writer, actor, singer, and television personality. He was best known for his work on radio and television in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. Allen was also a writer and producer for many of his shows. He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1988.
