Fred Allen (1888-1956) was a New Zealand comedian and radio personality who achieved fame in the United States. Born in New Plymouth, New Zealand, Allen moved to the United States in 1914 and began his career in vaudeville. He later found success on radio and television, becoming one of the most popular entertainers in the country.
