Constance of Hauteville was the mother of Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Sicily. She was the daughter of Roger II of Sicily and his wife, Elvira of Castile. Constance married Henry VI, Holy Roman Emperor in 1186 and gave birth to Frederick in 1194. Constance died in 1198 and Frederick succeeded his father as Holy Roman Emperor in 1220.
