Frederik Pohl was an American science fiction writer and editor. He served as editor of the Galaxy Science Fiction magazine from 1950 to 1969 and the If magazine from 1965 to 1974. During his time as editor, he helped to popularize the New Wave of science fiction and published the work of many important science fiction writers, including Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, and Arthur C. Clarke.
