The Jet d'Eau is a large fountain in Geneva and one of the city's most famous landmarks. It shoots water 140 meters (460 feet) into the air and is visible from many parts of the city. The fountain was initially installed in 1886 for a hydraulic power network and later became a symbol of Geneva.
