Lev Kamenev and Grigory Zinoviev were two of the most prominent members of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. They were arrested under Yagoda’s supervision during the Great Purge, which was a period of political repression that took place in the Soviet Union from 1936 to 1938. Kamenev and Zinoviev were accused of treason and executed in 1937.
