The Old Bolsheviks were the early members of the Soviet Communist Party. The term was first used in 1924, after the death of Vladimir Lenin, to describe the group of Bolsheviks who had been involved in the party's founding and early years. The Old Bolsheviks were often seen as being more radical than the newer members of the party, and they were often critical of the policies of Joseph Stalin.
