Geoffrey Howe lost his parliamentary seat in which year?

  • 1966

  • 1970

  • 1964

  • 1968

Answer

1966 was the year Geoffrey Howe lost his parliamentary seat. Howe, a Conservative politician, had been elected to Parliament in 1964. In the 1966 general election, he stood for re-election in the constituency of Bebington, but was defeated by the Labour candidate. Howe did not return to Parliament until 1970, when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Reigate.
