George Chip is the pen name of Jurgis Čepulionis, a Lithuanian American novelist, poet, essayist, and editor. He was born in Lithuania in 1907 and immigrated to the United States in 1924. He wrote extensively in Lithuanian and English, and his work has been translated into many languages. He is best known for his novel "The Partisans", which was published in 1955. He died in 1979.
