György Bischitz, later known as George de Hevesy, was a Hungarian-born chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1943 for his work on the use of isotopes as tracers in chemical processes. He changed his name to George de Hevesy in 1918 to avoid anti-Hungarian sentiment in Denmark, where he was working at the time.
