George Moore was born in 1852 in County Mayo, Ireland. He was a novelist, short story writer, critic, and essayist. He is best known for his novels "A Modern Lover", "Esther Waters", and "The Brook Kerith". He was also a member of the Irish Literary Revival and was friends with many of the leading writers of the time, including W. B. Yeats and James Joyce.
