George Mouzalon was the regent to John IV Laskaris, the emperor of the Nicaean Empire. He ruled as regent from 1221 until his assassination in 1222. Mouzalon was a capable and experienced administrator, and he helped to stabilize the empire after the death of Emperor Theodore I Laskaris.
