George Rose was born in England. He was a British politician who served as President of the Board of Trade and Treasurer of the Navy. He was also a Member of Parliament for Christchurch and Lymington. Rose was a close associate of Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger and played a key role in the formation of the Tory government in 1807.
