Isambard Kingdom Brunel is another famous Victorian engineer who worked in the same industry as Stephenson. Brunel was born in Portsmouth, England, in 1806. He was a very talented engineer and he designed many famous bridges and buildings, including the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Great Western Railway. He also worked on the design of the first transatlantic steamship, the SS Great Britain. Brunel died in London in 1859.
