Georges St-Pierre made his UFC debut in 2001, fighting Matt Hughes at UFC 38. He lost the fight by submission, but he would go on to become one of the most successful fighters in UFC history. St-Pierre won the UFC welterweight championship in 2006 and defended it nine times before retiring in 2017. He is considered one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
