Georgi Dimitrov was a Bulgarian communist politician and statesman. He was the General Secretary of the Communist International from 1935 to 1943 and Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 1946 to 1949. Dimitrov represented Bulgaria in the men's football tournament at the 1924 Summer Olympics. He played in the team's first match, a 5-0 loss to France.
