  • Partly True

  • Partly False

Answer

True. Gerd Binnig, along with Heinrich Rohrer, invented the scanning tunneling microscope in 1981, for which they were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1986. However, Binnig did not invent the atomic force microscope. That was invented by Binnig and Christoph Gerber in 1986 while working at IBM Zurich.
