Gerhard Richter did create stained glass windows for the Cologne Cathedral. He created two stained glass windows for the west rose window of the cathedral, one in 1972 and one in 1977. The windows are both abstract and use a variety of colors and shapes. They are considered to be some of Richter's most famous works.
