Gilberto Silva holds the record for the fastest goal in Arsenal history, scoring in 9.8 seconds against Blackburn Rovers on 11 December 2002. The goal came after a long throw-in from Ashley Cole which Silva chested down and slotted past goalkeeper Brad Friedel. The goal was later named the Premier League Goal of the Season.
