Gillian Flynn graduated from the University of Kansas in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She worked as a reporter for the Kansas City Star before turning to writing fiction. Her debut novel, Sharp Objects, was published in 2006. It was followed by Gone Girl in 2012 and Dark Places in 2014. All three novels have been adapted into films.
