Seferis passed away in Athens, Greece. He was a Greek poet and diplomat who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1963. Seferis was born in Smyrna, Ottoman Empire (now İzmir, Turkey) in 1900. He studied law at the University of Athens and later worked as a diplomat for the Greek government.
