Guido van Rossum is a Dutch computer scientist who is best known as the creator of the Python programming language. He was born in the Netherlands in 1956 and studied computer science at the University of Amsterdam. After graduating, he worked as a systems programmer at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam. In 1989, he started working on Python as a hobby project.
