Günther von Kluge was a German field marshal who served on both the Eastern and Western Fronts during World War II. He was one of the most successful German commanders during the early stages of the war, but his fortunes changed after the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942. He was dismissed from command after the Battle of Normandy in 1944 and committed suicide a few months later.
