Answer
Walter Model was a German general during World War II. He replaced Günther von Kluge as the commander of the German Army Group Center after Kluge's suicide in 1944. Model was a highly capable and aggressive commander, but he was also reckless and often made poor decisions. He was eventually dismissed from command after the failure of the Ardennes Offensive in 1944.
