Answer
Gustave Whitehead, originally named Gustav Albin Weisskopf, was a German-born American aviation pioneer. He claimed to have made the world's first successful airplane flight in 1901, predating the Wright brothers' famous flight at Kitty Hawk in 1903. Despite his claims, there is no definitive evidence to support them, and the Wright brothers are widely recognized as the first to achieve powered, controlled flight.
