Gyula Horn served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary from 1989 to 1990. He then became Prime Minister of Hungary from 1994 to 1998. Horn was a member of the Hungarian Socialist Party and was a leading figure in the transition from communism to democracy in Hungary. He was also a strong advocate for European integration.
