Answer
Hannes Alfvén was a Swedish physicist and engineer who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1970. He is best known for his work on plasma physics, the study of the behavior of charged particles. Alfvén proposed the existence of magnetohydrodynamic waves, which are now known as Alfvén waves. He also developed a theory of how the solar wind is generated.
