Hans-Ulrich Rudel was a German Luftwaffe pilot who was the most decorated soldier of World War II. He flew the Junkers Ju 87 Stuka dive bomber, and was credited with destroying more than 500 tanks, as well as numerous ships and other targets. He was also awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds, the highest military award of Nazi Germany.
