Between 1989 and 1992, Héctor Camacho held the WBO junior welterweight title twice. He won the title for the first time in 1989 by defeating Ray Mancini in a controversial split decision. Camacho then lost the title to Roberto Duran in 1990, but he regained it in 1991 by defeating Duran in a rematch. Camacho finally lost the title to Julio César Chávez in 1992.
