Hedy Lamarr played the biblical character Delilah in the 1949 film "Samson and Delilah". Delilah was a Philistine woman who seduced Samson and betrayed him to the Philistines. She had him cut his hair, which was the source of his strength. The Philistines then captured him and blinded him. Samson eventually escaped and destroyed the temple of Dagon, killing himself and many of his enemies.
