In 2004, Robert John Fossmo was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murders of Heather Strong, Laura Babbott and Beverly Werner in the 1980s and early 1990s. Fossmo evaded capture for more than 20 years until a combination of DNA evidence, police work and perseverance brought the elusive serial killer to justice.
