Conrad II was the great-grandson of Henry II. He was born in 990 and died in 1039. He was the Holy Roman Emperor from 1027 until his death. Conrad II was the son of Henry II's daughter Gisela and Duke Herman II of Swabia. He was elected King of the Germans in 1024 and was crowned Emperor in 1027.
