Hephaestion was the closest friend of Alexander the Great and the two men shared a very close relationship. They were said to be inseparable and Alexander confided in Hephaestion about everything, even his deepest secrets. Hephaestion was also the only person who was allowed to see Alexander without his armour and sword.
