Zhang Chongren was a Chinese artist who influenced Hergé's work. Hergé was a Belgian cartoonist and the creator of the comic series The Adventures of Tintin. He visited China in 1931 and was impressed by the work of Zhang Chongren. Zhang's paintings of Chinese landscapes and people inspired Hergé to create the character of Chang Chong-Chen in The Blue Lotus.
