Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador who, along with Diego de Almagro, led the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire in South America in the 16th century. Pizarro and de Almagro were the first Europeans to see the Pacific Ocean from the Americas, and they were also the first Europeans to reach the Inca capital of Cuzco.
