Hjalmar Branting was born on 23 November 1860 in Stockholm, Sweden. He was a Swedish social democrat politician and the first Prime Minister of Sweden from 1920 to 1921 and from 1921 to 1923. He was also a leading figure in the Swedish Social Democratic Party (SAP) and was its leader from 1907 to 1926.
