Carmichael starred in 14 films throughout his career. He made his film debut in 1929's "Alibi" and went on to appear in a variety of genres, including musicals, dramas, and comedies. Some of his most notable films include "The Maltese Falcon" (1941), "Casablanca" (1942), and "To Have and Have Not" (1944).
