Hoagy Carmichael, born November 22, 1899, was an American composer, pianist, singer, and actor. Best known for his work in the Great American Songbook, Carmichael composed such classics as "Stardust", "Georgia on My Mind", and "The Nearness of You". He also wrote film scores and appeared in a few movies.
