Guorui was the courtesy name of the Hongwu Emperor. He was the founder of the Ming dynasty in China and ruled from 1368 to 1398. Guorui was a military leader who fought against the Mongols and other enemies of the Ming dynasty. He was also a skilled administrator and oversaw the construction of many important buildings, including the Forbidden City.
