Hubert Coutoucou Maga was a Beninese politician who served as the first President of Benin from 1960 to 1963. He was born in Parakou, French Dahomey, on December 14, 1916. He studied law at the University of Bordeaux and worked as a lawyer in Cotonou. He was active in the anti-colonial movement and was elected to the French National Assembly in 1951.
